Chamgang Tempa Kundra

 CHAMGANG TEMPA KUNDRA

The Chamgang Tempa Kundra was constructed by Lama Kunzang Dorjee, founder of Jangsa Animal Saving Trust (JAST) and consecrated by H.H the Je Khenpo Trulku Jigme Chodrak in 2002.

For many generations, this site was a traditional place for slaughtering of innumerable bulls and yaks. Lama Kunzang Dorjee built the Kundra on this very site to dispel the negative karma of many generations.

JAST maintains the Tempa Kundra which now serves as a site for “Tsethar” – the Buddhist practice of saving of animal lives. JAST and devotees regularly perform many ritual offerings dedicated to the alleviation of the suffering of all sentient beings in general and of the animals in particular.
